After building up for months, the wait is almost over: the world premiere of Marvel’s The Avengers took place last night in Los Angeles, and the entire cast was on hand to interact with fans and answer questions. You can check out the entire red carpet broadcast below, including Robert Downey, Jr’s arrival, which with done with as much style and class as the character he plays in the film.
RDJ also revealed a tantalizing bit of new information during a press junket today, claiming that the cast would be filming an additional scene tonight, and also insisting “I’m not joking!” While this should certainly be taken with a grain of salt, it’s worth pointing out that the Iron Man epilogue featuring the appearance of Nick Fury was not included in the original press screenings, so perhaps Marvel is saving something for opening weekend.
And finally, the good folks at TrailerAddict have gifted us with about 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes b-roll footage from The Avengers, all edited together and set to the film’s score, courtesy of Alan Silvestri. Even without dialogue, there’s plenty of cool stuff to check out here, so have at it.
The Avengers opens on May 4, 2012.
